Chief Executive Hilary Roberts said: “As one of the largest affordable housing providers in England and a developer of new homes, it is important to be able to reassure our residents, our partners and our colleagues that we are doing a good job. We are really pleased to retain the best rating possible which shows that we continue to be well-governed and financially robust.”
The Regulator of Social Housing is an executive, non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government. It regulates registered providers of social housing to promote a worthwhile, efficient and well-governed social housing sector, able to deliver homes that meet a range of needs.
Its objectives are to ensure that housing associations are financially viable, properly managed, provide value for money and protect the taxpayer. The regulator also makes sure that consumers are protected with well managed, quality social housing and that residents have the opportunity to be involved in their landlords’ management and can hold them to account.
