Jigsaw Homes Group is pleased to announce its latest G1V1 judgement from the Regulator of Social Housing, achieving the best rating possible and showing Jigsaw Homes is well-governed and financially strong.
The G1V1 judgement was officially announced on 31 July 2019, following an In Depth Assessment in April 2019. The G1 rating was for the group’s governance and the V1 rating for viability; with the grading based on a scoring of 1, 2 or 3 for each. You can read the report here.
Fay Selvan, Group Chair, commented, “I am really proud that we have been awarded G1V1 following our In Depth Assessment. It has been a lot of work over the last year bringing two organisations together into the Jigsaw Group. As we are now one of the largest providers of social housing and a developer of new homes, it is important to be able to give assurance to the people we work for – our tenants – that we are doing a good job.”
The Regulator of Social Housing regulates registered providers of social housing to promote a worthwhile, efficient and well-governed social housing sector, able to deliver homes that meet a range of needs. It is an executive, non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government.
Their objectives are to ensure that housing associations provide value for money and protect the taxpayer, whilst validating financial viability and effective governance. They also set consumer standards and may take action if these are breached or pose serious detriment to tenants and potential tenants.
