As part of Jigsaw Group’s commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant, since 2018 the Group has helped house 25 ex-military personnel in its homes across the North West.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, along with their families, be treated with respect and fairness in the communities, society and economy they have serviced.
Jigsaw Group have been working in partnership with Walking With The Wounded (WWTW) to offer ex-military personnel and veterans vital support when integrating back into society after their service has ended.
The Group’s lettings team have been taking direct referrals from WWTW on behalf of military personnel looking to re-integrate into communities. Having somewhere to live is integral to being able to support personnel moving forward after their service. Once they have found somewhere to live, WWTW then offers help with issues around mental health, employment, up-skilling, welfare and family support.
Dean Wall, Voids and Lettings Manager for the Jigsaw Group stated: “Thanks to Walking With The Wounded for some great partnership work in conjunction with our own Lettings team who have been passionate about this worthy cause. We are delighted to have supported 25 personnel who have served our country to find new homes as part of our ongoing commitment to helping those returning from service.”
Gary Lamb, Associate Director and North West Regional Manager for Walking With The Wounded said: “We are very pleased to be working in collaboration with Jigsaw Homes. They have enabled the journey for those ex-military personnel who have been in need of housing to be able to find a safe place to live which has enabled them to restart their own personal journeys. The relationship which has been developed has been seamless and one that is highly valued by us here at Walking With The Wounded.
“To assist the number of those that have served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces over a short period of time is something that both parties are extremely proud of. It is a shining example of how by working together issues around the ex-military personnel can be addressed.
“Thank you to all the team at Jigsaw for your valuable support and we look forward to continuing working with you.”
Jigsaw Group strives to help those in the greatest housing need and remains committed to assisting people who serve our country find a home when they return from service.
