Jigsaw Homes Group, one of the North West’s largest housing associations, has successfully obtained planning permission for 16 new rural homes in Craven, North Yorkshire. This is the Group’s first rural development in the area, which will be partly funded by Homes England.
The development off Greengate Lane, Long Preston, will be built on a vacant former industrial site.
The new homes will offer the opportunity for local people to either rent or buy with shared ownership. Eight of the properties will be made available for sale through shared ownership. These will comprise of five 3-bed houses and three 2-bed houses.
The other two 3-bed houses, two 2-bed houses and four 1-bed flats will be available for affordable rent. Adactus Housing Association, part of the Jigsaw Homes Group, will manage the new rental homes.
The Group was committed to designing homes to reflect the wider character of the village. The designs are in keeping with other properties in the area, offering homes that can be enjoyed by local people.

This is our first new build housing in the area and after working closely with Craven District Council and Homes England to support this development, we are really pleased to be able to contribute to the provision of much-needed affordable rural homes.”
The development is part of Jigsaw Group’s wider commitment to create 2,177 homes across the North West and East Midlands by 2022 through a range of tenures, including affordable rent, shared ownership and market sale.
